The Harbour Club

THE STORY BEHIND THE DINER

The Harbour Club is undoubtedly one of Valletta’s most modernistic and amazing diners and is a project the J. Lautier team takes great pride in. What was an old shop was refurbished into the exquisite diner that graces the streets of Malta’s capital today. A substantial amount of metal work was completed both indoors and outdoors, including the outside detailed railing on the lower part of the perimeter which has created a fun and modern vibe upon restaurant entrance. The pilled rods were added as an extra detail and are also used as racks for wine bottles and other decorative items. Attention to detail was given the utmost priority.

The Harbour Club is situated on the outskirts of Malta’s Capital City Valletta, literally on the waters’ edge, and enjoys spectacular views of the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities which creates an exquisite relaxing experience and setting for diners. Thanks to our collaboration with Chris Briffa Architects, we delivered impressive work with unlimited enthusiasm and are proud to have created and implemented an amazing design concept which is admired by all.

The Harbour Club welcomed its first clients in January 2014 and the team were given a four month time-frame to create an incredible dining setting for guests which include a blend between old and new, perfect rock walls which integrate with the design concept. Furthermore, the restaurant is split into three levels – the upper outside terrace, the ground floor seating area and dining space and the lower Jazz Bar. Charlotte Sullivan, a shipping agent and entrepreneur was entrusted to handle the restoration.

The majority of work including stainless steel and metal works, steel structures of shelves, serving bars, customized wine shelves, platforms and railings were completed by the J.Lautier team.

Melita Manufacturing Company Limited has recently completed all the manufacture of steel works at ‘The Harbour Club’ Restaurant in Valletta. These steel works included structures of shelves, serving bars, a platform with railings and customized wine shelving.

The whole project was completed as scheduled and the results exceed all expectations making the project a great success. The undersigned, the architects and engineers involved were impressed with the high degree of workmanship throughout the work process.

I fully recommend MMCL to anybody wanting to do steelworks.
