J. Lautier Co. Ltd’s roots date back to the 1960’s when Joseph Lautier started his enterprise as a self- employed blacksmith in a small workshop . Twenty years later he then founded the company at a time when the building industry in Malta was at its prime.

By then the fast-growing company had already employed over 20 talented individuals and had diversified its activity from blacksmith to the manufacturing of aluminum apertures. In 1990 J. Lautier Co. Ltd inaugurated its new Premises in Msida which has an area of over 6000 square meters of storage space. It continued to diversify and started to specialize in the imports and distribution of materials and accessories for the building industry, with a particular emphasize on the aluminum aperture and structure sector.

By the year 2000 the company had established itself as a leader in its sector, providing manufacturers of aluminum works a full range of essential materials. During this same time-frame, Mr. Lautier’s sons and daughters were completely involved in the running of the business and had continued to expand the business sectors with particular attention on the company’s roots, i.e manufacturing. In this same year, a sister company titled Melita Manufacturing Co. Ltd was launched.

Following this business development, sister company Melita Manufacturing Co. Ltd took the lead in the manufacturing sector while J Lautier Co Ltd continued to concentrate on the imports and distribution market and the synergy between both entities continues to be as strong as ever before giving clients from manufacturers to end users an exceptional customer experience.
