THE STORY BEHIND THE STRUCTURE

Simonds Farsons Cisk is the biggest company in Malta focused on with  wholesale and retail of food and beverages including wines and spirits, the operation of franchised food retailing establishments and property development, chose our firm for one of their latest projects. The company was established in 1928, and grew into one of the most successful brands in the Maltese islands requiring more need for office space for their ever growing team of employees. This job was split between J.Lautier Co.Ltd and Ballut Blocks in collaboration with TBA architects.

The agreement between Farsons and the Joint Venture between J.Lautier Co. Ltd. and Ballut Blocks was to create a structure with sSteel beams and then put predalles and concrete. The structure was then improved by adding two additional flights to the existing two while the structure was entirely built of massively large steel beams. Together the teams worked hand in hand to keep the production flawless.

Works started being carried out in April 2016, and the clients documented each and every step before implementing any works. All fabricated work was completed on a tight schedule as specified by client. Furthermore the team, had to keep up the scheduled works and no lay backs were issued. The work was very professional and all steel structure was handed with total commitment and dedication. The team excelled in the management of the structure which was of a considerable size.

The main work completed by J.Lautier was the Steel Beams and the Spiral staircase. The staircase was of a hefty size, required extreme caution and created a lot of pressure on the team who did their utmost to abide by all safety measures. Apart from the precautions taken on site, the team also conducted a risk assessment exercise to plan all precautions beforehand.
